Camerata Chamber Singers (CCS) is composed of 20 highly accomplished and dedicated choristers. A chamber choir (often referred to as “chamber singers”) is a smaller and more select choral ensemble than most choruses which would often have two or three times the number of singers.
CCS is a balanced ensemble of 10 sopranos and altos and 10 tenors and basses. Singers include choral conductors, instrumental conductors, instrumentalists, music majors, physicians, engineers, teachers, as well as others who are gifted singers. Many of them have performed as soloists in other various ensembles and church choirs, as well.
The chamber choir repertoire is often a cappella, but can also be accompanied by a solo instrument or a small group of instruments. The music performed is generally more classical in nature, but can also include folk music, spirituals, popular tunes, and jazz arrangements.
